The demand for Electric Line Workers is at an all-time high in the Carolinas.  The Johnston County Lineworker Pre-Apprenticeship program has been created to develop the dynamic talent needed right here in Johnston County to support our electric utilities.

This program is a registered pre-apprenticeship with ApprenticeshipNC that teaches the basics of Electric Line Work, over ten eight-hour Saturday sessions between September 2019 and May 2020.

Students who complete the program will receive pre-apprenticeship credit through Apprenticeship NC.  Pre-apprenticeship hours can be applied to a registered Apprenticeship program through a future employer.

Scholarship and grant opportunities are available for students who enroll in an Electric Line Worker Certification program through an NC Community College such the Nash Community College Electric Line Construction program following high school.
