The demand for Electric Line Workers is at an all-time high in the Carolinas.  The Johnston County Lineworker Pre-Apprenticeship program has been created to develop the dynamic talent needed right here in Johnston County to support our electric utilities.

This program is a registered pre-apprenticeship with ApprenticeshipNC that teaches the basics of Electric Line Work, over ten eight-hour Saturday sessions between September 2023 and May 2024.

Students who complete the program will receive pre-apprenticeship credit through Apprenticeship NC.  Pre-apprenticeship hours can be applied to a registered Apprenticeship program through a future employer.

Through the instruction, students will also receive OSHA-10, CPR and, First Aid certifications.

Students who complete the program will be considered for a limited number of paid summer internships with one of the Public Power Electric Utilities in Johnston County and can go on to further their education through a North Carolina community college program.
